Warframe Fan Weapon - Shattered Lua

For a long time I've wanted to make a piece inspired by the design of Warframe, but it was always difficult for me to get the right feeling. It was important for me to try to communicate what Warframe means to me though this piece, something beautiful and sad, delicate and deadly all at once. I came up with an Orokin-style khopesh to tell the story of shattered Lua. Something broken and mended, the memory of home carried within the shining ceramic blade.

The only digital concept iterations I made after several pages of thumbnails and days of research. Eventually, I took the left-hand one into ZBrush and reconcepted it using the more organic tools of the program to create a much better final result.
